Applying the Sermon on the Mount

Based on Jesus's teachings in Matthew 6:1-18 and the broader Sermon on the Mount, no Christian should post about their faith on social media platforms.

My opinion would be that I feel like Jesus, in relation to postings on social media on faith. He would not want us to boast about our faith, with motives of getting something in return. "Beware of practicing your piety before others in order to be seen by them; for then you have no reward from your Father in heaven" (Matthew 6:1).

Many organizations or others may not do this on intentional basis. But Jesus, would not approve of us being on social media, letting others know that we are feeding the hungry. This would be considered boasting. But I know that so many do not mean this in a boasting manner. Others, just may be proud of the work they are accomplishing for the glory of God. So it all depends on how we take this. God is a loving God. He is not to judge or condemn.

He wants us to be humble of His miracles. Because this will build people's faith. He wants us to fast in silence, because this is our communication and time to hear His voice. If we tell others of our fasting, this may hinder the voice of what God wants us to hear. Because when we tell others, they may or may not have their say, in the fasting process, and the point of fasting is to hear God's voice not the people here on Earth. It just adds to the clutter in our hearts when we are in a fasting time. "And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so as to show others that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may be seen not by others but your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you (Matt. 6:16-18).

We can utilize social media as a platform to pray.
